Meet the Band    
Noelle Michaels
Lead Vocals

...is one of the most versatile singers in Chicago. She brings a wealth of experience to the band, from her background with Chicago’s top society bands, to solo performances at venues such as Magnum’s Piano Bar, to several vocal jazz group projects.

Noelle is one of the most sought after vocalists for weddings, recordings and voiceovers in the city; has been a featured convention and corporate performer across the country, and has had the privilege of performing the National Anthem for many local sports teams, including the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Fire.

Noelle is also known for her non-stop energy when performing and meticulous attention to details when dealing with individual clients.

Tim Fitzgerald
Guitar • Vocals

...his love of jazz comes through with every note he plays. Though Tim is well-versed in many styles of music, he remains connected to the jazz tradition through his performances with Von Freeman at Chicago's Cultural Center, with Dennis Charles in New York, and with his studies with piano great Barry Harris.

Tim has performed throughout the country in many different venues, including the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, the Luxor in Las Vegas, Chicago’s Green Mill and Chicago’s House of Blues. Television appearances include PBS’s “Art Beat Chicago” and 2007’s ABC/Channel 7 New Year’s Rock N Roll Ball. Tim also appeared on the soundtrack for the Sony motion picture, “The Myth of Fingerprints,” starring Roy Scheider, Julianne Moore, and Noah Wyle. In 2001, Tim was a first alternate for the Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassadors.

Mike Frost
Saxophone • Vocals • Bandleader

...studied saxophone on scholarship at DePaul University under jazz virtuoso Joe Daly. He has been a featured performer with blues legend Otis Rush, and has been a member/soloist with many prominent jazz bands in the city.

Mike has also played on various recordings with musicians from the bands of Miles Davis and David Sanborn. Mike is a voting member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and a member of the IAJE.

Mike is also the Entertainment Director for Premier Yachts Inc., the parent company of the Odyssey I, Odyssey II and Odyssey III and several other vessels and attractions.

Steve Frost
Trumpet • Vocals

...a graduate of DePaul University's School of Music, with a Bachelor of Music Performance. From Classical to Jazz, he has proven himself as a versatile player, with a broad range of performance experience.

Steve has performed with blues legend Otis Rush at some of Chicago's most well known venues, including opening for Robert Plant and Jimmy Page at Chicago's United Center during their 1995 World Tour.

Steve has also performed on recording sessions for a number of local artists as well as national artists like blues man Eddie Clearwater. More recently, Steve has performed with Chicago's own #1 hit legends, "The Buckinghams". He performs regularly with Chicago jazz legend Bob Guthrie, and for the past several years on the luxury cruise ship "Odyssey", performing on the Jazz Brunch and with Chicago's premier dance band, "Impulse". Steve is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS).

Dave Bernat
Drums • Percussion

...studied his craft under Chicago Symphony Orchestra percussionist Al Payson,Michael Green of Chicago’s Lyric Opera and has performed in the Chicago Civic Orchestra and the Ethos Chamber Orchestra. He then went on to do numerous tours of Europe with other professional symphonies and bands.

Dave is also a regular in the recording studio, having played on numerous national commercials as well as various rock and R&B projects. In addition, Dave is a respected and popular private teacher.

 


Tim Green
Keyboards • Vocals

...has a growing reputation as a solid, tasteful accompanist and soloist with an ever-expanding reperatoire of jazz. He is highly regarded by singers, who appreciate his listening and sensitivity at the piano.

Besides working as a sideman in many notable groups and venues in and around Chicago, Tim has performed coast to coast across the United States alongside several artists of international acclaim, such as the Von Freeman Quartet, Marlene Rosenberg, Jim Cox Trio, Green Mill Quartet, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Don Stiernberg Quartet, and several others.

Though known mostly as a jazz pianist, Tim has played Viva Chicago with both Latin Jazz and Salsa bands, and has recorded across genres including modern pop, Latin and Jazz.
